Since 1994, Ken has run his own business, Kent Outsourcing Services CC, providing consulting and education in operations and supply chain management. Over this period, he has worked with close to 200 companies throughout Southern Africa and has recently presented seminars and education in India, France, Dubai, Lebanon, Jordan, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, UK, Ireland, USA, Australia, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
Kent Outsourcing Services is an Authorised Education Channel Partner for both SAPICS and APICS and an affiliate of the DDI (Demand Driven Institute).

Ken has been involved for many years at both at the Cape Town Chapter level as well as national level of SAPICS, the Association for Operation and Supply Chain Management in Southern Africa. He held the position of national President of SAPICS during the 1999/2000 period and again from 2006 to 2009. Ken has been a regular contributor of papers and workshops at the annual SAPICS International Conference and Exhibition.

Prior to running his own business, Ken worked in the ERP software industry for two years selling and implementing ERP systems. Other industries in which Ken has worked are Engineering Plastics, Plastic Packaging, Metal Packaging, Glass Packaging as well as the Automotive Engine Components and Materials Handling Conveyor industries. Ken started his career as a craft apprentice after leaving Grammar School in the UK, studying for his Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and later transferring to a student apprenticeship to study for an Honours Degree in Production Engineering and Management at Loughborough University.

Ken took a position as project leader on a successful MRP II (ERP) implementation and during this time studied for his CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) from APICS in the USA. Later he was awarded the Fellowship level certification, CFPIM, after presenting many of the APICS educational programs and publishing and presenting papers at the annual SAPICS International Conference and Exhibition.

Ken is also certified CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution), PLS and SCOR-P (Supply Chain Operations Reference Professional) by APICS, CPF (Certified Professional Forecaster) by the IBF in the USA, CS&OP (S&OP Institute) and the CDDP, CDDL and the CSCA (ISCEA). More recently Ken has been certified DDPP, DDLP and DDFP from the DDI.

Ken is accredited by APICS as an instructor for the CPIM, CSCP, CLTD and APICS Instructor Development Programs. More recently Ken has been endorsed as an instructor for the DDI's DDP and DDL programs. He is also an accredited SCOR-P instructor, CSCA Instructor and a trainer for ‘The Fresh Connection’ supply chain simulation tool.
